SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Lewis C. Parker of Silvis, who passed
4away on March 30, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lewis Parker was born in Manchester, Iowa to
6Donald Holmes and Eleanor Frances (Kenny) Parker on August 29,
71938; he served in the U.S. Army; he married Nadia Musgrove,
8and they later divorced; he married Peggy Sexton Zeltner in
9East Moline on February 14, 1975; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lewis Parker worked as a supervisor and engineer
11at John Deere for 23 years before he retired in 2000; he
12previously worked at McLaughlin Body Company; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Lewis Parker belonged to St. Mark's Anglican
14Church, the East Moline American Legion, the Quad City Bass
15Club, and the John Deere Harvester Bass Club; he was an avid
16bass fisherman and enjoyed golf; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Lewis Parker was preceded in death by his
18parents; his sister, Donna Dorr; and his brothers, Dennis and
19Lynn Parker; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Lewis Parker is survived by his wife, Peggy; his

1children and their spouses, Dyann Parker, Kyle Parker,
2Michelle and Patrick Raley, Richard and Chelsey Zeltner, and
3Todd Parker; his grandchildren, Ryan Parker, Kaitlyn Zeltner,
4Alexis Wilson, and Drew West; and his sister and
5brother-in-law, Ena and Daniel Garner; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Lewis C. Parker and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Lewis Parker as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
