SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth James "Kenny" Udehn, formerly of Moline, who passed away on April 9, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Udehn was born in Chicago to Carlysle and Catharine Belding Udehn on December 28, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Udehn was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a founding member of New Kingdom Trailriders; he loved being involved in local sports, and he was a member of The Quad City Sled Hockey Association's (TQCSHA) sled hockey team and participated in waterskiing sponsored by Backwater Gamblers and St. Ambrose College; he was also passionate about camping, traveling, fishing, journaling, rock polishing and collecting, bowling, scrapbooking, and watching movies, game shows, and soap operas; he especially enjoyed family trips to South Dakota and Disney World; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Udehn was a well-known, active, and beloved fixture within the Quad Cities community; he was known for his special way of lighting up any room with his infectious smile and for giving so much love to so many; his presence will be greatly missed, and his legacy will live on in all the lives he touched within the community; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Udehn was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Kenny Udehn is survived by his brother, Dr. David (Rose) Udehn; his sister, Kippy (Bill Murphy) Udehn; his nieces and nephews, Crystal Udehn, Tara Johanneson, Cierra Lindquist-Haffner, Suzanne Hanson, Michelle Udehn, Cpt. Zane Lindquist, Skye Bork, and Paul Udehn; and a host of friends and family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kenneth James "Kenny" Udehn and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenny Udehn as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
