SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Richard E. "Rich" Paxton of East
4Moline, who passed away on April 11, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rich Paxton was born in Fairfield, Iowa to James
6O. and Dorothy L. Sloan Paxton on May 1, 1946; he served in the
7U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and married Sherry Warren in
8East Moline on October 30, 1970; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rich Paxton retired from John Deere after 30
10years as a press operator; he was the co-founder of Centennial
11Rods and Street Machines and was a master at restoration and
12custom work and could fabricate anything; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Rich Paxton was affectionately known as "RP"; he
14enjoyed car shows and loved spending time with his family; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rich Paxton was preceded in death by his parents
16and his brother, Gary; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rich Paxton is survived by his wife, Sherry; his
18son, Shawn (Corie) Paxton; his daughter, Becki (Wade) Pilon;
19his grandchildren, Darcie Pilon, Dawson Pilon, Kaylee Paxton,
20and Kelsey Paxton; and many special friends; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Richard E. "Rich" Paxton and extend our sincere condolences to
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Rich Paxton as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
