SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Dr. Edward Joseph Kaizer of
4Libertyville, who passed away on April 9, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer was born to Peter and Mary
6(Raymond) Kaizer in Cramer, Pennsylvania on March 18, 1937; he
7earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Duquesne
8University and his doctorate in piano performance from Indiana
9University; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer, Professor Emeritus of Music,
11was head of the piano department at Bradley University from
121970 to 2016; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer was a guest soloist with the
14Chicago Symphony in 1972; he performed countless solo and duo
15recitals across the United States, Mexico, and Europe with his
16wife, Janet; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer was awarded the Rothenberg
18Award for Professional Excellence; and
 
19    WHEREAS, In addition to music, Dr. Edward Kaizer was
20passionate about fishing and golfing; he loved his family,

1loved his music, and loved his life; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer was preceded in death by his
3wife of 45 years, Janet L. (Cook) Kaizer; his sisters, Jean
4(Kaizer) Piorkowski and Joanne Kaizer; and his son, John
5Kaizer; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Kaizer is survived by his children,
7Edward (Lynn) Kaizer, Claire (Doug) Kasamis, Laraine (Sasha)
8Kaizer-Viazovtsev, and Joseph Kaizer, and his six
9grandchildren, Alex Kaizer, Drew (Caitlyn) Kaizer, Nick
10Kaizer, Jackson Kasamis, Lexi Kasamis, and Ella Kasamis;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Dr. Edward Joseph Kaizer and extend our sincere condolences to
15his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Dr. Edward Kaizer as an expression
19of our deepest sympathy.
