SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ray A. Crownover of Coal Valley, who
4passed away on May 4, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ray Crownover was born in Davenport, Iowa to Ray
6Sr. and Mayme (Tizzard) Crownover on August 21, 1929; he
7served in the U.S. Navy and married Patricia Myers in
8Hernando, Mississippi on August 20, 1949; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ray Crownover worked as a deputy supply chief at
10the Rock Island Arsenal for 35 years, retiring in 1985; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ray Crownover was a member of Moline American
12Legion Post No. 246 and the Rock Island Moose Lodge; he enjoyed
13shooting pool and woodworking; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ray Crownover was preceded in death by his wife,
15Patricia; his parents; his son, Loren Crownover; his
16son-in-law, James Harder; and his siblings, Dorothy Ryall,
17Edith Biller, Alice Feeney, and Bill Crownover; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ray Crownover is survived by his children, Linda
19Crownover-Inch, Diane Harder, David (Dana) Crownover, and Tim
20(Diane) Crownover; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Crownover; 15

1grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
2nephews; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Ray A. Crownover and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Ray Crownover as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
