SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Raphael Vito "Ralph" Ferri of Chicago, who passed away on May 7, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Ferri was born in Losato, Italy to Vito and Pasqua Ferri on December 18, 1927; he immigrated to Seattle, Washington in 1946; he later moved to Chicago; he married Rita Tunzi on July 11, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Ferri worked as a cement mason for his entire career and was a member of the Cement Mason's Union, Local 502; during his long career, he worked on the construction of Chicago's famous Sears Tower and the Bloomingdale's building; he retired in 1990; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Ferri most cherished sharing big Sunday dinners with his family and drinking a glass of his own homemade wine; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Ferri was the father of Pasquina (Schnotala), Vito Ferri, Adriana (Ferdinardo), and Michael Ferri, and he was the grandfather of Ralphy Ferri, Ken Schnotala, Lauren Schnotala, Marianna Ferdinardo, Rita Ferdinardo, Angela Ferdinardo, Joseph Gutierrez, Michael Ferri, Sam Ferri, and Dino Gutierrez; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Raphael Vito "Ralph" Ferri and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ralph Ferri as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
