SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Corinne G. Wood, who passed away on May 18, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Corinne Wood was born on May 28, 1954; and

WHEREAS, Corinne Wood was an attorney and a former member of the Illinois General Assembly; she served as the first female lieutenant governor of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Corinne Wood remained active in many political, civic, and social endeavors well after leaving office; and

WHEREAS, Corinne Wood was a loving mother and wife; she will be missed; and

WHEREAS, Corinne Wood is survived by her husband, Paul, and her children, Ashley, Brandon, and Courtney; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Corinne G. Wood and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Corinne Wood as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
