SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George L. McMahon, who passed away on September 29, 2020 at the age of 98; and

WHEREAS, George McMahon was born on February 17, 1922; and

WHEREAS, George McMahon was a resident of Burr Ridge at the time of his passing; he also once called Brookfield and Berwyn home; and

WHEREAS, George McMahon was a World War II Navy Seabee, who served in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters; and

WHEREAS, George McMahon was the longtime owner of McMahon Brothers Machine Works in Cicero; and

WHEREAS, George McMahon was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine, and his sister, Mary (Albert) Muisenga; and

WHEREAS, George McMahon is survived by his son, Patrick M. McMahon, and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of George L. McMahon and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George McMahon as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
