| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Mary Weitzel, who passed away on | 4 | | September 30, 2020 at the age of 84; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Weitzel was born to Dr. Charles and Helen | 6 | | Leonard in Rockford on March 5, 1936; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Mary Weitzel was the beloved wife of the late | 8 | | Charles J. Weitzel, and upon his passing in 1982, she started | 9 | | her career in local Oak Park business at Madly Pop'n and | 10 | | Pilgrim Management; eventually, she founded her own company, | 11 | | MLW Property Management; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Mary Weitzel was a 52-year member of St. Luke | 13 | | Catholic Church in River Forest; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Mary Weitzel loved to play piano and enjoyed | 15 | | reading books and watching college football, especially the | 16 | | Fighting Irish of Notre Dame; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Mary Weitzel made everyone smile with her good | 18 | | humor and generosity; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Mary Weitzel was preceded in death by her |

| 1 | | husband, Charles J. Weitzel; her sisters, Nell (William) Sheil | 2 | | and Helen C. Leonard; and her brothers, Charles Leonard Jr. | 3 | | and John (Marsha) Leonard; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Mary Weitzel is survived by her children, Chuck | 5 | | (Gina), John, Megan, Tom (Meg), Catherine Erhardt, Helen | 6 | | Patricia Sattler (Don), and Michael (Phoebe); her | 7 | | grandchildren, Alex (Kaitlyn), Matthew, and Peter Weitzel, | 8 | | Bridget, Kevin, and Camryn Weitzel, Sarah and Anne Sattler, | 9 | | Shannon and Molly Erhardt, Charlie Weitzel, and Brandon and | 10 | | Caden Weitzel; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Mary Weitzel and extend our sincere condolences to her family, | 14 | | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Mary Weitzel as an expression of our | 17 | | deepest sympathy.
