SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald "Don" E. Schillinger of Orion, who passed away on May 30, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Don Schillinger was born to Paul John and Lydia Margaret (Knochenmus) Schillinger in Colona Township on May 2, 1932; he served in the United States Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Don Schillinger worked for IH East Moline in his younger years and later became a farmer in the Orion area; he also owned and operated the Nail Keg in Orion as well as the former Waterslide; and

WHEREAS, Don Schillinger was a member of the VFW and the UAW Local 1304; and

WHEREAS, Don Schillinger was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Pysson; and his brothers, Floyd and Harold Schillinger; and

WHEREAS, Don Schillinger is survived by his brother, Lloyd (Margie) Schillinger; his nieces, Sherry (Rick) Lovett, Marsh Storm, Donna (Bob) Waterfield, Jan (Rod) Versluys, Judy (Bill) Ward, and Carla Schillinger; and his nephews, David (Cheryl) Schillinger, Dan (Kathy) Pysson, Gary (Bev) Schilling, Tom Schillinger, Ernie (Sara) Schillinger, and Barry (Lydia) Schillinger; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Donald "Don" E. Schillinger and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Don Schillinger as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
