SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Gary W. Sierer of East Moline, who
4passed away on December 20, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Sierer was born in Moline to Riley and
6Thelma (Wessman) Sierer on October 18, 1947; he served in the
7U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and married Toni A. Presson in
8Coal Valley on August 7, 1993; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gary Sierer owned Blackhawk Tire, Inc. and
10Midwest Wholesale Tire from 1978 to 2012; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Gary Sierer was a member of Edgewood Baptist
12Church; he never knew a stranger and was a kind, generous, and
13giving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend to all; he
14enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children
15and grandchildren, with whom he created many happy memories;
16he loved all things Disney, frequently visiting Disney World
17in Florida, among other travel destinations; he was a pet
18lover and a dog's best friend; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Gary Sierer was preceded in death by his parents
20and his sister, Karen Jean Sierer; and

1    WHEREAS, Gary Sierer is survived by his wife, Toni; his
2children, Lisa Sierer, Melissa (Matthew) Brennick, Lance
3(Jessica) Sierer, Alicia (Shane) Dierikx, and Noah Sierer; his
4grandchildren, Nicole Bender, Carter and Jacob Brennick,
5Dylan, Hunter, and Landon Sierer, and Oliver Dierikx; his
6great-grandchild, Hope, and one on the way; his brother, Jon
7(Barbara) Sierer; his father-in-law, Jimmie Presson; his
8mother-in-law, Mary Susan Tomlinson; and many nieces, nephews,
9and other family; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Gary W. Sierer and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Gary Sierer as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
