SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert L. Horton, formerly of Rock Island, who passed away on August 24, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Robert Horton was born to Otto and Marie (Schmidt) Horton on April 9, 1933; he married Linda Thomas on November 15, 1956; he served in the U.S. Navy; and

WHEREAS, Robert Horton was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; his son, Harold; his granddaughter, Christina Horton Brunat; his brothers, Delbert Horton Sr. and Otto Horton II; and his sisters, Rozetta Barton, Shirley Whited, and Jean Rosenbaum; and

WHEREAS, Robert Horton is survived by his daughter-in-law, Melanie Horton; his grandson, Robert Horton II; his six great-grandchildren; his sister, Sharon Fitzpatrick; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert L. Horton and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Horton as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
