SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John W. Hohnsbehn Jr. of Litchfield, who passed away on September 26, 2021; and

WHEREAS, John Hohnsbehn was born in Wood River to John W. Sr. and Leona (Spurgeon) Hohnsbehn on June 21, 1956; he married Nona Furlow in Litchfield on October 23, 2010; and

WHEREAS, John Hohnsbehn retired after serving as the Director of Nursing for the Southern Illinois University School of Nursing; and

WHEREAS, John Hohnsbehn was a 4th degree member of the Bethalto Chapter Knights of Columbus; and

WHEREAS, John Hohnsbehn was preceded in death by his parents and his grandchildren, Abigail Hohnsbehn, Cameron Hohnsbehn, Jackson Hohnsbehn, and Jacob Stutz; and

WHEREAS, John Hohnsbehn is survived by his wife, Nona; his children, John W. (Jessica) Hohnsbehn III, Amy (Simon) Huntley, Dan Hohnsbehn, Katie (Cory) Spengler, Jessica Mielke, Becca Hohnsbehn (Zachary Morris), Ella Hohnsbehn, Jennifer (Jeff) Kraft, Adam (Debbie) Witsken, and Autumn (Josh) Reed; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Theresa (Jon) Smith; and his brother, Bruce (Shirley) Hohnsbehn; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John W. Hohnsbehn Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Hohnsbehn as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
