SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Susan Bird Doucleff, who passed away on December 18, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff was born to William and Clare (Jones) Bird in Laredo, Texas on August 10, 1944; she graduated from North Texas State University; she married Michael S. Doucleff Sr. in Fort Worth, Texas on July 9, 1966; and

WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff was involved in the Alton community and volunteered with the Caravan resale shop at the Oasis Women's Center; and

WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff was a member of the Main St. United Methodist Church, where she was active in many capacities, including children and youth activities, the women's ministry, and the hand bell choir; she was also a member of the board at Centerstone of Alton; and

WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff enjoyed traveling and meeting people around the world; and

WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Susan Doucleff is survived by her husband, Michael; her daughter, Amy (Ben) Hollis; her sons, Michael (Jennifer) S. Doucleff Jr. and Matthew (Michaeleen) Doucleff; her granddaughters, Catherine Hollis, Grace Hollis, Charlotte Doucleff, Hazel Doucleff, Eloise Doucleff, and Rosemary Doucleff; and her brother, William (Pam) Bird Jr.; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Susan Bird Doucleff and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Susan Doucleff as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
