SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Floyd Arnold Langenwalter of Collinsville, who passed away on November 22, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Floyd Langenwalter was born to Arnold and Oradell (Dettmar) Langenwalter on September 11, 1923; he graduated from McCray Dewey High School in 1941; he served in the U.S. Army during World War II; he married Dorothy Ann Schermann on May 15, 1949; and

WHEREAS, Floyd Langenwalter worked as a meat inspector for the Department of Agriculture for 35 years before retiring; and

WHEREAS, Floyd Langenwalter was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville, where he held numerous leadership positions, including president of the Church Council; he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #712 in Collinsville and the Scottish Rites; he was a Shriner; he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, refinishing furniture, and traveling with family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Floyd Langenwalter was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Milton and Dale Langenwalter; and his sisters, Carol Howerton and Shirley Crossman; and

WHEREAS, Floyd Langenwalter is survived by his wife of 72 years, Dorothy Ann; his daughters, Janet (Mitch) Boyce and Jane (Bob) Sudhoff; his grandchildren, Beth (Scott) Heffren, Brian (Ashley) Boyce, Amy (Brian) Stoff, and Christopher Sudhoff; his great-grandchildren, Riley and Reid Heffren, Erica and Morgan Boyce, and Sawyer and Lily Stoff; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Floyd Arnold Langenwalter and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Floyd Langenwalter as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
