SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mother Mary B. McKinney of Decatur,
4who passed away on December 31, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary McKinney was born to Belvy Manney and Connie
6(Green) Manney in Morrilton, Arkansas on July 20, 1926; she
7grew up in Arkansas and moved to New Madrid, Missouri in her
8adult life; she relocated to Decatur in 1975; she married
9William Junior McKinney, and he preceded her in death in 1989;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mary McKinney committed to her faith from an
12early age; she was a longtime member of the Church of the
13Living God P.G.T. Temple #3, where she faithfully attended
14until her health declined; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mary McKinney loved gardening, planting flowers,
16studying her faith, listening to gospel music, and spending
17time with her family; she was affectionately called "Aunt Mary
18Belle" by many and "Granny Girl" by her great-granddaughter
19Chermain; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Mary McKinney was preceded in death by her
21husband, William; her parents; her siblings, Thaddeus Manney

1and Robert Harold Manney Sr.; her son-in-law, Lawrence Taylor;
2and her nephews, Junious T. Manney Jr. and Lance Manney; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Mary McKinney is survived by her children,
4Dorothy (Charles Sr.) Warren, Roy (Lynette) McKinney, Gladys
5Taylor, Raymond (Glanda) McKinney, Janice McKinney, William
6McKinney, Patricia (Roy) Dorsey, Ellen (Andra Sr.) Burris, and
7Rhonda (Allen) Taylor; her bonus son, Richard Moore-McKinney;
8her brother, Junious Thomas Manney Sr.; her brother-in-law,
9Charles (Jean) McKinney; her sister-in-law, Barbara Patterson;
10her 28 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren,
11great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other
12relatives; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Mother Mary B. McKinney and extend our sincere condolences to
16her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Mary McKinney as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
