SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Tony Esposito of Moline, who passed
4away on January 2, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tony Esposito was born in Chicago to John and
6Jennie (Colella) Esposito on February 16, 1923; he enjoyed
7golf and being a caddy at Short Hills Country Club from 1936 to
81939, where he was Caddy Champion in 1939; he graduated from
9United Township High school in June of 1940 and served in the
10U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945, where he was stationed in North
11Africa, Italy, and the Pacific Theater; he worked for a short
12time at John Deere while attending St. Ambrose College; he
13played golf for St. Ambrose from 1946 to 1950 and for the Velie
14Cup during the 1940s; he married Antoinette Posateri in Rock
15Island on June 12, 1948 and graduated from St. Ambrose in 1950;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Tony Esposito was a former champion at the Indian
18Bluff Golf Course, where he had three holes in one; he also had
19a hole in one at Short Hills Country Club; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Tony Esposito was preceded in death by his wife,
21Antoinette; his son, Anthony John Esposito; his parents; his
22stepfather, Sam Rice; and his siblings, Frank Rice, Joey

1Esposito, and Anna Gaeta; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Tony Esposito is survived by his children, JoAnne
3(Steve) Jackson, Amy (Mike) Kuberski, and John Esposito; his
4grandchildren, Jeremy (Carmen), Jamie, Stephanie (Aaron), Cara
5(Derick), and Nate; his great-grandchildren, Jack, Isabelle,
6Emma, Aiden, Ben, Cam, Stella Rose, Cade, and Tatum; and his
7brother, Sam Rice; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Tony Esposito and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Tony Esposito as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
