SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ronald "Ron" B. Schlotfeldt of Hillsdale, who passed away on March 16, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Ron Schlotfeldt was born to Russell and Ardelle (Peters) Schlotfeldt in Clinton, Iowa on July 15, 1946; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam; he married Vicky L. Wiersema in Silvis on December 16, 1989; and

WHEREAS, Ron Schlotfeldt retired from Rock Island Integrated Services at the Rock Island Arsenal as a supervisor; and

WHEREAS, Ron Schlotfeldt enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping; he also liked tending to his yard and gardening; and

WHEREAS, Ron Schlotfeldt was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Ron Schlotfeldt is survived by his wife, Vicky; his children, Dana Morey, Lynnette Stevens, John Carlile, Chris (Nicole) Carlile, Jimmy Carlile, Russ (Sarah) Schlotfeldt, Ron Schlotfeldt II, and Travis Schlotfeldt; his grandchildren, Kaleb Carlile, Madison Schlotfeldt, Aubrie Schlotfeldt, Travis Schlotfeldt Jr., Kyler Ball, Gabriel Ball, and Marissa Weiner; his siblings, Lana Thoma, Dean (Norma) Schlotfeldt, Willie (Shirley) Schlotfeldt, and Gail (Jerry) Kruse; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ronald "Ron" B. Schlotfeldt and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ron Schlotfeldt as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
