SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Master Sergeant Joseph D. "Joe" Rebholz, U.S. Army (Ret) of Hampton, who passed away on March 30, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Joe Rebholz was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 31, 1945; he married Tonnie Jo (Smith) Nevins in Moline on December 31, 1983, and she preceded him in death on September 18, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Joe Rebholz was drafted into the U.S. Army on October 23, 1967; he served his country for 20 years, retiring as Master Sergeant; and

WHEREAS, Joe Rebholz enjoyed finding deals, shopping for antiques, and going to auctions; he also loved cooking and gardening; and

WHEREAS, Joe Rebholz was preceded in death by his parents; his brother; and his wife of 35 years, Tonnie Jo Rebholz; and

WHEREAS, Joe Rebholz is survived by his sister, Mari Jean Arscot; his friends, Jesse and Yesenia Schroeder, and their children, Johnathan, Matthew, and Christopher; his friends, Pedro and Ari Martinez, and their daughter, Annie; and his friend, Michael Cornett; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Master Sergeant Joseph D. "Joe" Rebholz, U.S. Army (Ret) and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joe Rebholz as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
