SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Margaret M. Birmingham, who died peacefully in her Melrose Park home on December 12, 2021 at the age of 82; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham was raised in Crystal Lake by her parents George Flynn and Marge Flynn; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham attended Sienna High School, where several classmates became her lifelong friends; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham had a deep love for travel and saw many places, but one of her favorite spots in all the world was sitting on the pier in front of her parents' home in Crystal Lake; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham married her husband Bill Birmingham in September of 1963; they would be married for 25 years until his passing; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham was an avid golfer and hiker and loved all things related to sports; she was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, cheered the Chicago Bears, and tuned into every Notre Dame football game; she was an avid reader, theater attendee, and movie goer; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham was preceded in death by her parents, George Flynn and Marge Flynn; her husband, Bill Birmingham; and her siblings, George Flynn and Barbara Flynn; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Birmingham is survived by her children, Bill (Jane) Birmingham, Kathy (Chuck) Meyer, and Megan (Rich) Sebanc; her grandchildren, Nick, Bridget, Matthew, David, Mark, Jack, Clare, Brenna, Chloe, and Erin; her great-granddaughter, Ava; her sisters, Kathy (Bill) Norris and Maureen Holman; her nieces and nephews; and her great-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Margaret M. Birmingham and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Margaret Birmingham as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
