SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois State Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Janet H. "Jan" Hannigan of Oak Park, who passed away on January 23, 2022 at the age of 89; and

WHEREAS, Jan Hannigan was born to Ralph and Edith Davis in Oak Park on September 10, 1932; she graduated from Oak Park and River Forest High School in 1950; and

WHEREAS, Jan Hannigan enjoyed a long career working for West Suburban Hospital, where she was promoted to director of communications before she began working for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; and

WHEREAS, Jan Hannigan also worked with the Oak Park Area Gay and Lesbian Association before her retirement; and

WHEREAS, Jan Hannigan was an avid book reader and enjoyed bowling, knitting, and crocheting; and

WHEREAS, Jan Hannigan was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan, traveling with her best friend of many years, Marion, to watch the Bears preseason games in Platteville; and

WHEREAS, Jan Hannigan was well known for her humor, friendliness, and love of people; and

WHEREAS, Jan Hannigan was preceded in death by her sons, James E. Hannigan and Robert K. Hannigan; her parents; and her two brothers; and

WHEREAS, Jan Hannigan is survived by her children, Kathi (Dave) Seibt, Christine Hannigan, Lori (Rose) Mireles-Hannigan, Michael (Kimi) Hannigan, Jennifer Hannigan, and Sara (Mike) Rowe-Hannigan; her grandchildren, Caitlin Hannigan, Danny Hannigan, Kelsey Seibt, Krista Seibt, Samantha Hannigan, Allison Hannigan, Kevin Hannigan, Kyle Hannigan, Ryan Davidson, Jocelyn Davidson, Dylan Davidson, Ryan Rowe, Jordan Rowe, Brandon Rowe, and Aaron Rowe; and her five great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Janet H. "Jan" Hannigan and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jan Hannigan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
