SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Cynthia Williams Goodhouse of Oak
4Park, who passed away on November 24, 2021 at the age of 71;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Cynthia Goodhouse was born in Knoxville,
7Tennessee on January 23, 1950; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Cynthia Goodhouse attended Queens College in
9Charlotte, North Carolina; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Cynthia Goodhouse found a calling in substance
11abuse counseling and education; her first job in the field was
12at the Jonnie H. McLeod Drug Education Center in Charlotte,
13North Carolina; some years later, she helped introduce drug
14education into Mecklenburg County Schools in North Carolina;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Cynthia Goodhouse enjoyed gardening, art,
17literature, and storytelling; she especially loved poetry; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Cynthia Goodhouse was devoted to her family; she
19also adored the family pet, Oreo; and

1    WHEREAS, Cynthia Goodhouse was preceded in death by her
2husband and true love, Karl E. Goodhouse, and her parents,
3Theodore R. Williams and Margaret S. Williams; and
 
4    WHEREAS, At the time of her death, Cynthia Goodhouse was
5survived by her daughter, Bridgette Mann; her grandson,
6Dustin; her great-granddaughter, Faith; her sister, Kathy
7Williams; and her nieces, Kristi and Rachel; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Cynthia Williams Goodhouse and extend our sincere condolences
11to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Cynthia Williams Goodhouse as an
15expression of our deepest sympathy.
