SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Francis "Frank" Martinez, who passed away on December 4, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Frank Martinez was a recent graduate of Elk Grove High School, where he was on the track team and in the autos program; he was enrolled in the automotive technology program at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale; and

WHEREAS, Frank Martinez was a life-ranked boy scout, played the french horn, and loved soccer; and

WHEREAS, Frank Martinez was successful academically and had a wide circle of friends; he was an energetic, fun, friendly soul whose passions included automobiles, climbing, and enjoying the outdoors with friends; and

WHEREAS, Frank Martinez is survived by his parents, Juan and Jennifer; his siblings, Max and Kate; two grandmothers; and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Francis "Frank" Martinez and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Martinez as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
