SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of David N. "Dave" Baker of East Moline,
4who passed away on February 3, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dave Baker was born to Thurman and Charlotte
6Robbins Baker in Andersonville, Indiana on April 4, 1932; he
7married Dorothy A. Newkirk in Connersville, Indiana on
8November 3, 1956; he served in the U.S. Air Force during the
9Korean War, retiring as a major from the Air National Guard;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dave Baker worked as a transportation management
12specialist for the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring after 22
13years of service; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dave Baker was a member of the Northcrest Calvary
15Baptist Church in Moline; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dave Baker was preceded in death by his parents;
17his brothers, Marion Baker and Irvin Baker; and his sister,
18Esther Emerson; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Dave Baker is survived by his wife of 67 years,
20Dorothy "Dottie" Baker; his children, Gregory (fiancée, Diane

1Medearis) Baker and Beth (Dave) Nowack; his grandsons, Brett
2Nowack and Brian Nowack; his great-grandchildren, Jace,
3Xander, and Emery; his brother, Gerald (Patricia) Baker; his
4sisters, Janet Feightner and Jeannie Cox; his extended family
5members, James Baker and Penelope Baker; and his dog, Toby;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9David N. "Dave" Baker and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of David Baker as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
