SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

40 ILCS 5/17-144

from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 17-144

Amends the Chicago Teacher Article of the Illinois Pension Code. In a provision authorising the Board to fill certain elected-member vacancies, adds members elected from the administrators. Effective immediately.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by changing Section 17-144 as follows:

(40 ILCS 5/17-144) (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 17-144)

Sec. 17-144. To fill vacancies. To fill any vacancies occurring in the Board of members elected from the teachers, or pensioners, or administrators until the next annual election, when the vacancies shall be filled as provided by this Article.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
