HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Steve Hatcher on
4the occasion of his retirement after 35 years as an executive
5with the Chamber of Commerce organization; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Steve Hatcher has spent his career working for
7various Chambers of Commerce organizations; he began with the
8Springfield, Missouri, Chamber of Commerce in 1975, spent time
9with the Chambers of Commerce in Kearney, Nebraska; Aurora,
10Illinois; and Elkhorn, Wisconsin, before coming to the Oswego
11Chamber of Commerce; he served as president at his stops in
12Aurora and Oswego and as executive director when he was in
13Elkhorn, Wisconsin; and
 
14    WHEREAS, During his career, Steve Hatcher served terms as
15the elected president of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce
16Executives and the Illinois Association of Chamber Executives;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, One of the accomplishments that Steve Hatcher is
19most proud of was working on the widening of Route 34 from
20Aurora Avenue in Naperville to Route 71 in Oswego; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Steve Hatcher has served as the president of the

1Oswego Chamber of Commerce since 2009; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Steve Hatcher and his wife, State Rep. Kay
3Hatcher, have 4 children and 6 grandchildren; they have lived
4in the Oswego Township for over 20 years; he is a decorated
5Vietnam veteran, graduated from Southern Illinois University
6in 1972, and attended the University of Colorado, University of
7Arizona, and the University of Oklahoma; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we congratulate Steve Hatcher on his retirement from the Oswego
11Chamber of Commerce, thank him for his 35 years of service to
12the Chamber of Commerce organization, and wish him the best in
13all his future endeavours; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to Steve Hatcher as an expression of our esteem and
16respect.
