HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Steve Hatcher on the occasion of his retirement after 35 years as an executive with the Chamber of Commerce organization; and

WHEREAS, Steve Hatcher has spent his career working for various Chambers of Commerce organizations; he began with the Springfield, Missouri, Chamber of Commerce in 1975, spent time with the Chambers of Commerce in Kearney, Nebraska; Aurora, Illinois; and Elkhorn, Wisconsin, before coming to the Oswego Chamber of Commerce; he served as president at his stops in Aurora and Oswego and as executive director when he was in Elkhorn, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, During his career, Steve Hatcher served terms as the elected president of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce Executives and the Illinois Association of Chamber Executives; and

WHEREAS, One of the accomplishments that Steve Hatcher is most proud of was working on the widening of Route 34 from Aurora Avenue in Naperville to Route 71 in Oswego; and

WHEREAS, Steve Hatcher has served as the president of the Oswego Chamber of Commerce since 2009; and

WHEREAS, Steve Hatcher and his wife, State Rep. Kay Hatcher, have 4 children and 6 grandchildren; they have lived in the Oswego Township for over 20 years; he is a decorated Vietnam veteran, graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1972, and attended the University of Colorado, University of Arizona, and the University of Oklahoma; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Steve Hatcher on his retirement from the Oswego Chamber of Commerce, thank him for his 35 years of service to the Chamber of Commerce organization, and wish him the best in all his future endeavours; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Steve Hatcher as an expression of our esteem and respect.
