HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Vallarie Franchesca Perez on her accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Vallarie Perez's most recent accolade was being crowned the International Jr. Miss Teen Illinois Winner on March 25, 2012; she uses her status to speak to young adults and girls in the State to discuss the ongoing battle with teen bullying; and

WHEREAS, Vallarie Perez currently attends North Central College in Naperville; her focus is on broadcasting and journalism so she can pursue her dream to become a television news reporter; and

WHEREAS, Vallarie Perez serves her community as much as she can in her spare time; she has contributed a total of 141 hours of service; she has volunteered at Horner Park Northwest Little League on Chicago's north side, at the First Congregational Church of Chicago, and for the Cook County Board of Review; and

WHEREAS, Among Vallarie Perez's accomplishments she has received an Honors Academic Scholarship for North Central College and the North Central Alumni Scholarship; she is the current title holder of International Junior Miss Illinois 2012, the 1st runner-up in the America's Perfect Teen Pageant 2011, and won the Broadcast Journalism Award Perfect Teen 2011; in 2010, she finished in the top 15 in the Illinois Teen USA Pageant; she won the AJ Wright Model Search in April 2010, the Quinceanera's Magazine Cover Girl 2009, and won back-to-back city championships with Lane Tech varsity softball in 2009 and 2010; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Vallarie Perez on her myriad of accomplishments so far in her life and wish her well in her pursuit of her future dreams; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Vallarie Perez as an expression of our esteem and respect.
