HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Kankakee Alderman Steve Hunter on his accomplishments while in office; and

WHEREAS, Steve Hunter helped secure $5 million in city spending for the 7th Ward of Kankakee; he sponsored "Summerfest", a 3-day festival for Kankakeeland in Pioneer Park and was involved with the "Glove Me Tender" program, providing hats and gloves to needy children in Kankakee School District 111; and

WHEREAS, Steve Hunter has provided 66 college scholarships to Kankakee children alongside KFL Community Services; he held an annual Christmas party for area children and was a board member of Christmas, Inc., which provides free Christmas dinners to those alone on Christmas Day; and

WHEREAS, Steve Hunter worked with Kankakee Valley Park District to bring new equipment to 7th Ward parks; and

WHEREAS, Steve Hunter is married to Elisa; he has 3 children, Kira Hunter, Miki Caines, and Alex Hunter and a grandson, Cameron Hunter; his mother is Louanne Hunter and his sister, Jacquelyn Smith; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the accomplishments of Kankakee Alderman Steve Hunter and thank him for his 40 years service to his community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Steve Hunter as an expression of our esteem and respect.
