HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Chief Ronald C.
4Levin on his 50 years of service with the Winthrop Harbor Fire
5Department; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Chief Ronald Levin started with the Winthrop
7Harbor Fire Department in July of 1963 at the age of 21; he
8moved up to engineer in April of 1966, where his primary job
9was driving and pumping the fire engines for fires; in 1972, he
10moved up to lieutenant and in 1985 to the rank of captain;
11during his rise in the Winthrop Harbor Fire Department, he took
12on added duties; in 1975, he obtained his EMT-Basic license and
13in 1984 he took on an additional job with the Zion Fire
14Department, where he worked for 22 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Chief Ronald Levin has been responsible for many
16improvements that have helped shape fire service; he helped
17create and assisted in the Quad One North, a plan where
18multiple departments respond to fires so that there are always
19adequate firefighters on the scene; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Chief Ronald Levin was promoted to deputy chief in
212004; as deputy chief he assisted in training new recruits; in
222008, he was on the committee that put together the

1department's first ladder truck "1731"; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Chief Ronald Levin was promoted to Fire Chief of
3the Winthrop Harbor Fire Department in 2009; he has served the
4department with deep commitment and support through both the
5rough times and good times; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we honor Chief Ronald Levin's 50 years of service to the
9Winthrop Harbor Fire Department and we wish him well on his
10future endeavours; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to Chief Ronald Levin as an expression of our esteem
13and respect.
