HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Notre Dame College
4Preparatory for having 3 of its graduates elected to the office
5of Mayor in the recent election; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Mayor Andrew Przybylo is a 1969 graduate of Notre
7Dame College Preparatory and a 1975 graduate of Loyola
8University; he and his wife, Amy, have been residents of Niles
9since 1981; he is part owner of the White Eagle Banquets and
10Restaurant in Niles and is employed by Cook County as Secretary
11to the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals; he served on the
12Niles Village Board as a Trustee from 1989 until 2013, when he
13was elected to serve as Mayor of Niles in April 2013; he is a
14board member and president of the Polish Welfare Association, a
15delegate to the Democratic Party Convention, and a member of
16the Board of Directors of First State Bank of Chicago; he has
17also been a member of several organizations, including the
18Knights of Columbus, Niles Lions Club, and Niles Sister Cities,
19and has served as the Democratic committeeman for Maine
20Township and as a commissioner for the Cook County Housing
21Authority; and
 
22    WHEREAS, Mayor Dan DiMaria is a 1985 graduate of Notre Dame
23College Preparatory; he has served as president of DiMaria

1Builders and as an independent commodity trader on the Chicago
2Board of Trade; he has served as an Appearance Commissioner,
3Village Clerk, and Trustee with the Village of Morton Grove and
4was elected to serve as Mayor of Morton Grove in April 2013; he
5is also a volunteer and community-spirited person who
6volunteers his time at the Taste of Morton Grove, Morton Grove
7Days, the Chamber of Commerce, and Niles West Feeder Baseball;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mayor Matt Bogusz is a lifelong resident of Des
10Plaines and a 2005 graduate of Notre Dame College Preparatory;
11he is also a graduate of Northwestern University, where he
12gained experience in operational management, digital
13advertising, and media strategy; he formerly served as Alderman
14of the 3rd Ward and Chairman of the Engineering and Finance
15Committees in Des Plaines and was elected to serve as Mayor of
16Des Plaines in April 2013, making him the youngest person to
17serve in that esteemed position; he currently works for one of
18the world's largest brand communications and consumer contact
19organizations and represents Des Plaines on the Northwest
20Municipal Conference's Legislative Committee; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Andrew Przybylo, Dan DiMaria, and Matt Bogusz
22serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the
23people of the State of Illinois and are fine examples of the
24strong work ethic and dedication to public service that Notre

1Dame College Preparatory instills in its graduates; therefore,
2be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5we congratulate Notre Dame College Preparatory for having 3 of
6its
7graduates elected to the office of Mayor in the recent election
8and thank the institution for its work in educating the future
9leaders of this State; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to Notre Dame College Preparatory as a symbol of our
12esteem and respect.
