HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas N. Little of West Frankfort, who passed away on December 8, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Little was born on July 25, 1940 in West Frankfort to Horace and Thomasine (nee Elwood) Little; he graduated from Frankfort Community High School in 1958 and attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale; he joined the United States Army Reserve in 1962 and served for 6 years; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Little joined the Illinois State Police in 1965 and served District 9, the Illinois State Police Academy, and District 13; he retired in 1993 as a vehicle investigation specialist; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Little enjoyed serving his community; he spent 22 years as a Paid On Call Firefighter for the West Frankfort Fire Department; he was the Franklin County Deputy Coroner for 20 years and a 20-year West Frankfort Lions Club member; he also was a 32nd degree Master Mason, and recently received his 50-year membership pin; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Little was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police since 1970 and a member of the First Christian Church; he served as the West Frankfort Codes Officer from 1996 to 1999 and was the Frankfort Community High School hall monitor from 1999 to 2002; he was a member of the 911 Board from 2002 to 2006 and on the Frankfort Township Board since 2009; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Little had a love for radios and technology and was known by friends in the amateur radio community as "WA9BOT"; he also enjoyed dogs, going to Busch Stadium to see the St. Louis Cardinals play, and visiting Gulf Shores, Alabama; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Little was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Little is survived by his wife, Judy DeLap-Little; his sons, Justin (Melissa) DeLap and Charley Little; his daughters, Jessica (Thomas) Rude and Shelly Dugan; his grandchildren, Michael Thomas DeLap, Joshua DeLap, Jade Dugan, Ethan Dugan, Evan Kirksey, Kiersten Little, and Hayden Little; his brother-in-law, Gene Forgatch; and his nieces and nephews, Steve Forgatch, Beth Conner, Todd Forgatch, Amy Forgatch-Siefert, and Jay Forgatch; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas N. Little, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Little as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
