HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Roger Clawson of Moline on receiving the Alumni Achievement Award from Western Illinois University; and

WHEREAS, Roger Clawson is a 1977 graduate of Western Illinois University; he has been a local State Farm Insurance agent since 1982 and prior to that, had a successful 5-year stint with David Weiner and Associates real estate firm; and

WHEREAS, Roger Clawson has been a member of the Moline Little League Board for 21 years, and has been on the Moline Park Board since 2000, serving as President for 10 years; he helped oversee renovations of Greenvalley Park, which resulted in Moline hosting 5 national Amateur Softball Association of America girls softball tournaments, resulting in millions of tourism dollars for the Quad Cities; and

WHEREAS, Roger Clawson was appointed by Governor Quinn to the Western Illinois University Board of Trustees in 2013 and has served as a member of the Western Illinois University Alumni Council since 2001, including a term as President from 2010-2012; he founded the council's Alumni Legacy Program; and

WHEREAS, Roger Clawson also served on Senator Mike Jacob's Blue Ribbon Committee that was instrumental in the development of the Western Illinois University-Quad Cites Riverfront Campus; and

WHEREAS, Roger Clawson and many other Western Illinois University graduates come to find a natural pull to settle in the Quad Cities area after their time on the Macomb campus; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Roger Clawson on receiving the Alumni Achievement Award from Western Illinois University and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Roger Clawson as an expression of our esteem and respect.
