HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, In unity, there is strength; and

WHEREAS, The more that local, State, and federal law enforcement agencies and operations reinforce one another, share information and resources, de-conflict operations, establish priorities, and focus energies across the spectrum of criminal activities, the more effective the outcome of separate activities undertaken by those organizations; and

WHEREAS, Intelligence gleaned from the collection, evaluation, analysis, and synthesis of information must be shared in order to reduce crime; and

WHEREAS, Collaboration encourages a coordinated and organized response to criminal activity throughout the target jurisdiction, diminishing gaps in interagency communication and intelligence; and

WHEREAS, Tactical intelligence is time-sensitive and crucial to the effective execution of arrests and seizures; and

WHEREAS, Law enforcement agencies must be able to share relevant information and intelligence across jurisdictional boundaries without risk of compromise to intelligence and the operations that derive from it; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we encourage the Illinois State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Drug Enforcement Administration to share information in order to more effectively combat crime; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be delivered to the Illinois State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
