SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Betty J. Argy of Crystal Lake, who passed
4away on May 20, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Betty Argy was born on January 30, 1930 in Villa
6Park; her parents were Sherman and Jesse Dockery; and
 
7    WHEREAS, In 1976, Betty Argy and her husband, James,
8founded "Betty's Ice Cream", which they ran for 25 years until
9its closing in 2001; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Betty Argy enjoyed reading, crocheting, crossword
11puzzles, and being a mother and grandmother; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Betty Argy attended Family Alliance in Woodstock;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Betty Argy was preceded in death by her husband,
15James; 4 sisters, Ruby, Thelma, Ruth and Lorraine; a brother,
16Sherman, Jr.; and her parents; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Betty Argy is survived by 8 children, Kathryn
18(Larry) Assell, James (Patricia) Larson, Debbie (Joe)
19Franzone, Pam (George) Smith, Denise (the late Carter) Kukovec,

1Norma Gerdes, Michael Argy, and Richard (Lisa) Argy; 17
2grandchildren, Dan, Bob, Pat, Carolyn, Carrie, Tony, Angelo,
3Sarah, Elizabeth, Amanda, Josh, Jessi, William, Eric, Joe,
4Emily, and Nick; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and
5nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Betty J. Argy; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Betty Argy as an expression of our
12sympathy.
