SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edna A. Giacomelli of Ladd, who passed away on March 13, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Edna Giacomelli was born on April 16, 1921, in Mendota; her parents were Alwin and Elva (Billhorn) Meyer; she married Roy Giacomelli on June 7, 1951, at St. Benedict's Church in Ladd; and

WHEREAS, Edna Giacomelli was a homemaker and a former member of St. Benedict's Church, the Alter and Rosary Society, and the Ladd American Legion Auxiliary; and

WHEREAS, Edna Giacomelli was preceded in death by her brother, Alvin Meyer, and her sister, Edith Fischer; and

WHEREAS, Edna Giacomelli is survived by her husband, Roy; her daughter, Lynne (Richard) Ouellette; her sons, Roy Giacomelli Jr. and Gary (Cristine) Giacomelli; her 5 grandchildren; and her sister, Dorothy (Robert) Boers; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Edna A. Giacomelli; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edna Giacomelli as an expression of our sympathy.
