SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ida M. "Edith" Rathgeb of Carlinville, who passed away on March 21, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Ida Rathgeb was born on October 10, 1917, in Beltrees; her parents were John and Mary Bechtold; she married Kenneth H. Rathgeb on January 20, 1940, in Beltrees; and

WHEREAS, Ida Rathgeb was a homemaker and was famous for her lemon pies; she enjoyed gardening, quilting, and working at Knights of Columbus fish fry events; and

WHEREAS, Ida Rathgeb was a member of Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Ida Rathgeb was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Eleanor Smith and Helen Bechtold; and her brothers, Leo Bechtold and Ed Bechtold; and

WHEREAS, Ida Rathgeb is survived by her son, Dave (Deb) Rathgeb; her daughter, Diana (Charles) Carson; her grandchildren, Tessa Hacke and Brianna (Dewey) Alexander; her great-grandchildren, Roman Holt and Rio Alexander; her siblings, John "Bud" (Elaine) Bechtold, Laverne (Sharon) Bechtold, Catherine Estrada, and Marie (Laverne) Bergenzer; her many nieces and nephews; and her special friend, LuAnn Leefers; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Ida M. "Edith" Rathgeb; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ida Rathgeb as an expression of our sympathy.
