SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jean Wehrli Kuhn, who passed away on June 12, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn was born on September 24, 1949, to Frank and Gertrude Wehrli; she was raised in Naperville and attended Ss. Peter and Paul School and graduated from Naperville Community High School in 1947; she married Bob Kuhn in September 1952; and

WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn was an active volunteer in the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, at the Edward Hines, Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital, at Ss. Peter and Paul Church and School, at Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity Soup Kitchen in Chicago, at the Naperville Heritage Society, and with Little Friends; and

WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn's favorite place to be was Centennial Beach; affectionately known as one of the "Beach Bums", she could be found playing cards up on the hill or taking a dip in the water; she enjoyed the quality time with family the beach provided and it was the highlight of every summer; and

WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn also enjoyed genealogy, history, golf, antiquing, reading, and travel; and

WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bob; and

WHEREAS, Jean Kuhn was a mother of 9, a grandmother of 18, and a great-grandmother of 4; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jean Wehrli Kuhn, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jean Kuhn as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
