SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Austin Joyce of Chicago, who passed away on August 19, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Austin Joyce served his country as a United States Marine during World War II; he was a member of the 1st Marine Brigade, 1st Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force and was deployed to deal with the aftermath of the Battle of Okinawa; and

WHEREAS, Austin Joyce was the beloved husband of the late Delia "Sally" (nee Mulkerrin); the loving father of Mark (Mary), John, Patrick, and the late Margie and Ellen; and the dear grandfather of Margaret Mary; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Austin Joyce, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Austin Joyce as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
