SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Don Anthony "D.A." Joiner of Carlinville, who passed away on November 28, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Don Joiner was born on December 18, 1948 in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Don Joiner served his country as a member of the United States Army's 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division, known as the Blue Spaders, from 1967 to 1968; he was awarded a Bronze Star with a "V" device, an Air Medal, and 3 Purple Hearts for his meritorious service; and

WHEREAS, Don Joiner was the owner and operator of Joiner Plumbing and Heating in the Carlinville and Virden areas for many years; and

WHEREAS, Don Joiner was demolition derby driver number 7-11 for many years; he also enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR and Young and the Restless; and

WHEREAS, Don Joiner was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Joiner; and

WHEREAS, Don Joiner is survived by his son, Joey W. (Faron) Bomkamp; his daughters, Kristy L. Joiner and Brooke Hunt; his grandchildren, Kaden and Delany Gray and Henley Bomkamp; his brother, Scott (Karen) Joiner; his sister, Lynette (Michael) Jones; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Don Anthony "D.A." Joiner; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Don Joiner as an expression of our sympathy.
