SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/34-18.82 new

Amends the Chicago School District Article of the School Code. Provides that beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, the Chicago Board of Education shall require the top 20% of the lowest performing schools in the school district, as determined by the Board, to employ a school nurse in conformance with certain provisions of the Code concerning school nurses. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section 34-18.82 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/34-18.82 new)

Sec. 34-18.82. School nurses. Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, the board shall require the top 20% of the lowest performing schools in the district, as determined by the board, to employ a school nurse in conformance with Section 10-22.23 of this Code.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
