HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Laborers' Local 751 on the occasion of its 95th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Laborers' Local 751 in Kankakee was chartered by the Hod Carriers, Building and Common Laborers' Union, later known as the Laborers' International Union of North America, on February 6, 1928; and

WHEREAS, Laborers' Local 751 has worked to promote the establishment of appropriate wages, fringe benefits, hours of employment, and working conditions for all of its members while at the same time promoting, fostering, developing, and advancing the skills, efficiencies, and working knowledge necessary for its members; and

WHEREAS, Laborers' Local 751 has sought to promote industrial peace and develop a harmonious relationship between the union and its employers and to strive for effective programs that would improve, advance, and increase the opportunities for employment of its members; and

WHEREAS, Laborers' Local 751 has engaged in legislative and other activities to promote, protect, and advance the physical, economic, and social welfare of its members and all people; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Laborers' Local 751 on the celebration of its 95th anniversary, and we wish the union continued success representing working men and women; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Laborers' Local 751 as an expression of our esteem and respect.
