HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jose Lewis "Jay" Polanco Webb II, who passed away on June 24, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Jay Polanco Webb was born to Starice Weddle and Lewis Polanco Webb on January 4, 2003; he graduated from Hinsdale South High School in 2021, where he was known for his infectious smile and bursting personality and was popular with his teachers, his development team, and his fellow students; and

WHEREAS, Jay Polanco Webb continued his educational endeavors at the Hinsdale Township Transition Center, where he explored the community and learned more about finding independence as a young adult; and

WHEREAS, Jay Polanco Webb was committed to his faith; he loved music, especially hip-hop and rhythm & blues, and he frequented many concerts; and

WHEREAS, Jay Polanco Webb was known for being the comedic relief with a contagious laugh, and he enjoyed watching comedies; although he was nonverbal, he found great humor in hearing words with many syllables; and

WHEREAS, Jay Polanco Webb will be remembered for his adventurous spirit and the joy he brought to others; and

WHEREAS, Jay Polanco Webb was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Frances Pittman, Lillie Webb, and Phyllis Briggs; his great-grandfathers, Nathaniel Pittman and Israel Polanco; and his aunt, Juanita Pittman; and

WHEREAS, Jay Polanco Webb is survived by his mother, Starice (Van) Weddle; his father, Lewis (Ericka) Polanco Webb; his siblings, Jesa (Lilly), Jaylah, Vanquis, Vanide, Sencere, Jisele, Jenesis, Jinger, Vantiece, Alajiah, Amarion, Van Jr., and Vanquan; his grandparents, Diane Pittman, Maurice Briggs, Marisol Polanco, Albert and Ida Montgomery, Stephanie Baber, and Brenda (Miles Sr.) Martin; his great-grandparents, Chana Polanco and Nellie Sanders; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jose Lewis "Jay" Polanco Webb II and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jay Polanco Webb as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
