HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Leonard Norrell Miller Jr., who passed away on December 14, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Leonard Miller was born to Annie Vivian Baldwin-Miller and Leonard Norrell Miller Sr. on January 7, 1952; he attended the University of Chicago and completed the carpentry program at Washburne Trade School; he married Jacqueline Miller on May 30, 1981; and

WHEREAS, Leonard Miller was a master carpenter; he was a member of the carpentry crew that erected the Sears Tower, known today as the Willis Tower; he later became a salesperson, working in direct sales; and

WHEREAS, Leonard Miller will be remembered as a man of strong faith who served as a role model and always gave back to his family; and

WHEREAS, Leonard Miller is survived by his wife; his children, Arionne, Leonard III, Justin, and Brandon; his bonus daughter, Naashon; his bonus son, Sirron; his granddaughters, Janeya, Destenee, and Aaliayah; his siblings, Sallie, Peggy, David, Donna, and John; his nieces and nephews, Shontelle, Jonus, Chris, and Ziarra; his great-niece, Sallie; his special family friend, Hazel Colar; and other family and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Leonard Norrell Miller Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Leonard Miller as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
