HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Leonard
4Norrell Miller Jr., who passed away on December 14, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leonard Miller was born to Annie Vivian
6Baldwin-Miller and Leonard Norrell Miller Sr. on January 7,
71952; he attended the University of Chicago and completed the
8carpentry program at Washburne Trade School; he married
9Jacqueline Miller on May 30, 1981; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Leonard Miller was a master carpenter; he was a
11member of the carpentry crew that erected the Sears Tower,
12known today as the Willis Tower; he later became a
13salesperson, working in direct sales; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Leonard Miller will be remembered as a man of
15strong faith who served as a role model and always gave back to
16his family; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Leonard Miller is survived by his wife; his
18children, Arionne, Leonard III, Justin, and Brandon; his bonus
19daughter, Naashon; his bonus son, Sirron; his granddaughters,
20Janeya, Destenee, and Aaliayah; his siblings, Sallie, Peggy,
21David, Donna, and John; his nieces and nephews, Shontelle,

1Jonus, Chris, and Ziarra; his great-niece, Sallie; his special
2family friend, Hazel Colar; and other family and friends;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we mourn the passing of Leonard Norrell Miller Jr. and extend
7our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who
8knew and loved him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Leonard Miller as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
