SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Gerald L. "Gerry" Armstrong of
4Monmouth, who passed away on January 29, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerry Armstrong was born to Leroy and Betty
6(Linder) Armstrong in Galesburg on September 6, 1948; he was
7raised and educated in Cameron, and he graduated from Warren
8High School in 1966; he served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to
91970; he married Cheryl Carlson in Monmouth on June 3, 2000;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Gerry Armstrong worked at IMI Cornelius in
12Monmouth for over 25 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Gerry Armstrong was an avid NASCAR fan and
14enjoyed going to the casino; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Gerry Armstrong was preceded in death by his
16parents; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Gerry Armstrong is survived by his wife, Cheryl
18Armstrong; his children, Brian Armstrong, Robert (Carrie)
19Armstrong, and Melissa Armstrong; his stepson, John (Nathan
20Melton) Armstrong; his grandchildren, Aiden, Brady, Jaxon,

1Emily, Lilly, and Ian; his siblings, Ann (Roger) Benson, Larry
2(Kathy) Armstrong, and Jim Armstrong; and his numerous nieces
3and nephews; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Gerald L. "Gerry" Armstrong and extend our sincere condolences
7to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Gerry Armstrong as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
