SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gary G. Bayles of Monmouth, who passed away on January 26, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Gary Bayles was born to Jerry and Ruth (Olander) Bayles in Rushville on November 15, 1941; he graduated from Monmouth High School in 1959; he served as an intercept operator in the U.S. Air Force in Germany for four years; he married Shirley Ryner in Monmouth on April 22, 1961; and

WHEREAS, Gary Bayles worked as a sales and finance manager at several auto dealerships around the State; and

WHEREAS, Gary Bayles loved traveling and was an avid Chicago Bears, St. Louis Cardinals, and Warren Warriors fan; he will be remembered as a man of faith who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Gary Bayles was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Bayles; his brothers, Ron and Lyle Bayles; and his parents-in-law, Ida and Carroll Ryner; and

WHEREAS, Gary Bayles is survived by his wife, Shirley Bayles; his children, Tracey (Bayles) Damewood and Dennis Bayles; his grandchildren, Joshua (Melissa) Bayles, Jacob Bayles, Danielle Bayles, Mandy (Ross) Hall, and Jenna Damewood; and his nine great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gary G. Bayles and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Bayles as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
