SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul Raymond Newcomb of Pekin, who passed away on January 30, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb was born to Raymond and Evelyn (Magill) Newcomb in Peoria on August 8, 1939; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps; he married Patricia Alexander at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria on December 7, 1968; and

WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb worked as a financial planner and agent at Prudential Insurance for 30 years before retiring; and

WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb was a longtime member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb was an avid car enthusiast, and he enjoyed collecting model and vintage cars; he was also a Bradley basketball fan; he loved spending quality time with his granddaughter; and

WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Paul Newcomb is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; his son, Gregory Scott (Aurea) Newcomb; his granddaughter, Daniella Newcomb; and his sister, Carole Banta; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Paul Raymond Newcomb and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Newcomb as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
