SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to congratulate Jim Reuter on the occasion of his retirement as executive director of the Carol Stream Park District; and

WHEREAS, Jim Reuter has dedicated nearly 40 years of his life to the parks and recreation industry, making significant contributions to the communities he has served; and

WHEREAS, Jim Reuter, as the executive director of the Carol Stream Park District, has demonstrated exceptional leadership, commitment, and expertise in promoting recreation and enhancing the quality of life for residents; and

WHEREAS, Jim Reuter has played a pivotal role in several projects, including the establishment of the Veterans Memorial Plaza, which brought together veterans, village leaders, and community members to create a lasting tribute to military service; and

WHEREAS, Jim Reuter has successfully secured grants totaling $1,754,996, which have supported numerous projects and renovations within the Carol Stream Park District, enhancing recreational facilities and experiences for the community; and

WHEREAS, Jim Reuter has displayed an unwavering commitment to the Carol Stream Park District, which has been instrumental in its continued growth and success, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals; and

WHEREAS, Through his positive demeanor, genuine care for others, and dedication to serving the community, Jim Reuter has earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues, board members, and the residents of Carol Stream; and

WHEREAS, Jim Reuter's retirement marks the end of an era for the Carol Stream Park District, and his departure will be deeply felt by all who have had the privilege of working alongside him; and

WHEREAS, Jim Reuter has expressed his intention to continue his volunteer work with Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin and to continue serving as chairman of the Elgin Parks and Recreation Foundation, further demonstrating his dedication to the betterment of the community; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jim Reuter on his retirement as executive director of the Carol Stream Park District, and we express our heartfelt gratitude for his exceptional service, leadership, and contributions to the parks and recreation industry and the community of Carol Stream; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we wish Jim Reuter a joyful and fulfilling retirement, knowing that his impact will continue to be felt for years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jim Reuter as an expression of our esteem and respect.
