SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3congratulate the St. Francis High School girls volleyball
4team, the Spartans, on winning the 2023 Class 3A State
5Championship; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The Spartans are currently led by coaches Lisa
7Ston, Erin Tuttle, Seth Salmon, Zeke Rivera, and Sofia Vallone
8and competed against 15 other teams to claim the championship;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, The Spartans completed strenuous amounts of
11training and practice during their pre-season and post-season
12in preparation for the opportunity to compete in the finals;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, St. Francis High School, currently led by
15Principal Raeann Huhn, is dedicated to the co-curricular
16activities it offers intending to provide an educational
17environment that allows students to learn teamwork,
18collaboration, discipline, respect, personal responsibility,
19and sportsmanship; and
 
20    WHEREAS, The Spartans' coaches, team managers, and players
21are committed to motivating all players to achieve academic,

1physical, social, and emotional excellence through hard work
2and dedication; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the
5St. Francis High School girls volleyball team, the Spartans,
6on winning the 2023 Class 3A State Championship, and we wish
7them many more successful seasons; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
9presented to the Spartan coaches, managers, and players as a
10symbol of our respect and esteem.
