| | 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION
| | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to | | 3 | | congratulate the St. Francis High School girls volleyball | | 4 | | team, the Spartans, on winning the 2023 Class 3A State | | 5 | | Championship; and
| | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Spartans are currently led by coaches Lisa | | 7 | | Ston, Erin Tuttle, Seth Salmon, Zeke Rivera, and Sofia Vallone | | 8 | | and competed against 15 other teams to claim the championship; | | 9 | | and
| | 10 | | WHEREAS, The Spartans completed strenuous amounts of | | 11 | | training and practice during their pre-season and post-season | | 12 | | in preparation for the opportunity to compete in the finals; | | 13 | | and
| | 14 | | WHEREAS, St. Francis High School, currently led by | | 15 | | Principal Raeann Huhn, is dedicated to the co-curricular | | 16 | | activities it offers intending to provide an educational | | 17 | | environment that allows students to learn teamwork, | | 18 | | collaboration, discipline, respect, personal responsibility, | | 19 | | and sportsmanship; and
| | 20 | | WHEREAS, The Spartans' coaches, team managers, and players | | 21 | | are committed to motivating all players to achieve academic, |

| | 1 | | physical, social, and emotional excellence through hard work | | 2 | | and dedication; therefore, be it
| | 3 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | | 4 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the | | 5 | | St. Francis High School girls volleyball team, the Spartans, | | 6 | | on winning the 2023 Class 3A State Championship, and we wish | | 7 | | them many more successful seasons; and be it further
| | 8 | | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | | 9 | | presented to the Spartan coaches, managers, and players as a | | 10 | | symbol of our respect and esteem. |
