SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Harold Pauli of Edwards, who passed away on January 26, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Harold Pauli was born to Albert and Ida Mae (Danz) Pauli in Tazewell County on April 14, 1934; he served in the U.S. Army; he married Carolyn Woolsey in Peoria on September 14, 1958; and

WHEREAS, Harold Pauli worked with Brauer Oil and Asphalt Co. for over 32 years; he farmed and raised cattle for the majority of his life; and

WHEREAS, Harold Pauli was a man of strong faith and a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher for many years; he was also a member of the Kickapoo Sportsman Club, the Peoria County Farm Bureau, the Peoria County Beef Improvement Association, and the Peoria County 4-H, where he served as a longtime 4-H leader; and

WHEREAS, Harold Pauli enjoyed having fun and spending time with his family and friends; he will be remembered for his outgoing personality, friendliness, and willingness to give to others; and

WHEREAS, Harold Pauli was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Brauer Connelly; and

WHEREAS, Harold Pauli is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carolyn; his children, Rod (Chris) Pauli, Randy (Nancy) Pauli, Ross (Connie) Pauli, and Robyn (Randall) Moeller; his grandchildren, Rorke Pauli, Allys Pauli, Stacy Pauli, Kiara Pauli, Nicole Pauli, Eleanora Moeller, and Johanna (Willis) Hertweck; his great-grandchild, Sophie Hertweck; his siblings, Richard Pauli and Ann (Russ) Jacobson; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Harold Pauli and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harold Pauli as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
