SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Andrew "Andy" Samborski of Des Plaines, who passed away on February 7, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Andy Samborski was born to Louis and Genevieve Samborski in Chicago on August 13, 1936; he served in the U.S. Army; and

WHEREAS, Andy Samborski was a member of the Elks Lodge, the V.F.W., the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus, where he was a Grand Knight 4th Degree; he also volunteered at the Des Plaines Food Pantry; and

WHEREAS, Andy Samborski was a man of strong faith and served as a minister of care for St. Stephen Protomartyr Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Andy Samborski was the epitome of joy, and his contagious laugh and compassionate nature captured the hearts of all who knew and loved him; he will be remembered for selflessly giving to anyone in need; and

WHEREAS, Andy Samborski was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Josephine; and his son, Timothy Samborski; and

WHEREAS, Andy Samborski is survived by his children, Dan (the late Rochelle) Samborski, Mark Samborski, Debbie (Joe) Vavrus, and Chris (Joe) Dalmaso; his grandchildren, Heather, Matt, Joey, Andrea, Justin, Ryan, Genevieve, Angelika, and Sarah; and his great-grandchildren, Jay, Karlee, Aiden, Josephine, and Magnolia; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Andrew "Andy" Samborski and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Andy Samborski as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
